Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Frank (ranked 3997 p4p, 415 weight class) and Isaish Rashad (ranked 2851 p4p, 320 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank moves in looking to clinch but Rashad pushes him off.
Frank fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rashad manages to avoid it.
Frank is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Frank swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Rashad to counter with a crisp jab.
Frank tries to clinch up but Rashad circles away and keeps his distance.
Rashad connects with a body shot that sends Frank's belly button to the back.
Rashad throws a hook but Frank blocks it.
Decent striking displayed by Rashad there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rashad is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Frank.
A counter left hand to the body from Frank misses its target.
Rashad fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Frank looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rashad jabs Frank right on the nose. Frank blinks but takes it well.

and Frank makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rashad swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Frank.
Frank ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rashad missing with a left hand there. Frank was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rashad looks to land a combination but Frank avoids it well.
Rashad connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Frank's hands.
Frank fails in his attempt to clinch.
Frank moves in looking to clinch but Rashad pushes him off.
Rashad is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Frank with a body shot.
Frank moves out of range as Rashad strikes.
Frank is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rashad avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rashad loads up on a big right hand but Frank slips the punch.
Rashad looks to land a combination. Frank sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Frank ducks under a wild hook from Rashad .
No joy there for Frank, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rashad appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Frank drops his hands momentarily and Rashad takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Frank moves forwards but Rashad connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Frank moves to clinch but Rashad breaks away
and Rashad counters with a left to the body.
Rashad feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Franks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Frank tries to bum rush Rashad with a series of wild strikes but Rashad uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It seemed like Rashad was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Rashad lands a right hook to the body.
Frank tries to clinch there but Rashad circles away.
Rashad misses with the combination.
Rashad looks to score with a jab to the body but Frank is just out of range.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rashad !

Frank is rocked!
Rashad is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Frank had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Rashad is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Frank like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Frank from another fist facial!
