Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Donato Russo Jr (ranked 23252 p4p, 467 weight class) and Peter Smith (ranked 4993 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Russo Jr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes. Peter Smith acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Russo Jr defends well and Smith ends up having to push Russo Jr into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Nice takedown defense from Russo Jr. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Russo Jr. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Russo Jr appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Smith. Russo Jr shrugs it off though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith lands with a right to the head.

The fighters circling - Russo Jr throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Good leg kick by Smith there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Russo Jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Russo Jr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Russo Jr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Smith is not content to let Russo Jr control the position.
Smith stops Russo Jr from passing to mount.

Smith lands with a nice combination. Russo Jr backs away looking to recover.
Oh Russo Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Smith dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Russo Jr has had enough and taps out.
