Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cody Myres (ranked 1452 p4p, 204 weight class) and Ace Ventura (ranked 1659 p4p, 226 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cody Myres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ace Ventura!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura has his takedown stuffed

and Myres moves into the clinch.
Ventura is trying to drag Myres to the mat but Myres just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've been informed that Ventura has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ventura jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Myres walks away with a smile on his face. Ventura gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Myres definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ventura turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ventura manages to end up in side control.

Myres sneaks out the side door and pushes Ventura away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Myres dips a shoulder and cracks Ventura with a mighty uppercut! Ventura falls back against the cage and Myres unloads with a barrage of strikes! Ventura is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Myres screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cody Myres!
