The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kennedy gets a takedown into half guard.

Benedito makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Benedito goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Benedito throws a series of punches but Kennedy avoids them all with ease.

Kennedy tries to sprawl but Benedito drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Benedito drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kennedy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kennedy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kennedy!
