Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Doyle (ranked 778 p4p, 86 weight class) and Josh Cook (ranked 1763 p4p, 182 weight class). Josh Cook has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Cook!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Cook throws a body shot but no joy.
The fighters circle momentarily. Doyle darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Doyle lands with a right hand.
Doyle takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cook moves out of range as Doyle strikes.
Cook bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Doyle's head backwards.
Doyle lands a leg kick that knocks Cook off balance momentarily.
Cook misses the shot to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cook has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cook keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Doyle.
A little jabbing left from Cook on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Doyle looks to land a right hand but Cook moved out of range.
Cook throws out a counter right but Doyle avoids it with no problem.
Doyle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Doyle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cook, pushing him back against the cage.
Cook blocks a body shot from Doyle.

Cook doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Doyle lands a shoulder strike.
Doyle swings wildly with an uppercut but Cook uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cook is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Doyle to keep the fight standing.

Cook jumps guard but Doyle stands there with Cook around his waist. Cook gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cook throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Doyles head.
Cook blocks a body shot from Doyle.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Doyle.
Doyle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cook's elbow.
Doyle lands a hook that snaps the head of Cook backwards.

Doyle manages to break the clinch.
Doyle attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Cook throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
As Cook tries to get set, Doyle tries to push him back and clinch up but Cook manages to avoid the attempt.
Cook works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Doyle's corner calls for a 1-2. Doyle obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Doyle throws a head kick but Cook moves out of range.
Cook moves out of range of the strikes.
Doyle punishes Cook's body with a nice straight punch.
Cook walks into a stiff left hand from Doyle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doyle works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Doyle slips under a jab.
Doyle throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cook throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Doyle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Doyle throws a hook but Cook blocks it.
Doyle throws a leg kick but Cook moved away.
Doyle is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cook.
Doyle slips under a jab.
Doyle throws a nice head kick!
Doyle connects with a solid leg kick.
Cook keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Doyle digs a good hook to Cook's body.
Doyle walks into a jab.
Doyle looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Doyle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cook throws out the jab.
Nice defenses there by Doyle.

Doyle tries to throw a body punch but Cook avoids it by throwing Doyle back against the cage.

Doyle lands a nice shot to the body.
Doyle is leaning against Cook and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Doyle tries a body shot but Cook blocks it.

Cook trying to control the position but instead, Doyle has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cook into the cage.

Doyle closes the distance and pushes Cook back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cook.

Doyle throws a quick inside leg kick.
Cook scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Doyle doesn't seem bothered though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cook manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Doyle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cook can do to turn this around?

Cook is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Doyle content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cook has locked up a guillotine! Cook's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Doyle is holding on here and Cook must be using up a lot of energy. Doyle has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cook gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
