The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hurley clinches.

Hurley wants the takedown. Tomazic is fighting it off but Hurley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tomazic's guard against the cage.
Tomazic wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hurley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tomazic on the ground.
Tomazic has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tomazic is nestled in close to Hurley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Tomazic takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

You can see the frustration on Hurley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hurley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hurley gets control of Tomazic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hurley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Adis Tomazic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hurley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tomazic to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Tomazic works over Hurley with some ground and pound from guard.

Tomazic gets to his feet and stands over Hurley, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hurley felt that one! Tomazic unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hurley from any more punishment!
