PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guillermo Pato (ranked 1953 p4p, 256 weight class) and Iggy Manley (ranked 1118 p4p, 158 weight class). Manley has chosen Born in the USA as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Guillermo Pato has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iggy Manley!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pato fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Manley, pushing him back against the cage.
Pato misses with a body punch.
Manley tries to pull guard but Pato holds him up against the cage and eventually Manley drops back down to his feet.
Pato lands with a light punch inside.
Pato lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Manley.
Manley goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pato prevents it.
Manley wants a takedown.
Guillermo Pato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iggy Manley.

Manley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pato after a bit of a struggle.
We've been informed that Manley has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pato is looking for a sweep. Manley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Manley on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Manley goes for a double leg but Pato avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pato continues to drive forward.

Pato connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Manley is looking to clinch.
Manley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pato sprawls well. Pato wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Manley gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd cheers as Pato lands an impressive looking overhand right. Manley doesn't seem phased though.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Pato drops Manley with a beautiful combination! Manley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pato is looking for the KO!

Pato knocks out Manley with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Pato before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Pato picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Guillermo Pato spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
