Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Maybetter (ranked 2083 p4p, 264 weight class) and Dave Beast (ranked 1486 p4p, 198 weight class). Maybetter comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop The Funk. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Floyd Maybetter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Beast!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maybetter misses with a hook. Beast ducked under it nicely.
Beast swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Beast moves away from the strike by Maybetter.
Floyd Maybetter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beast is trying hard to land a takedown here. Maybetter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Maybetter missing with a left hand there. Beast was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Maybetter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Beast throws out the jab.
Maybetter throws a jab but it's blocked by Beast.

A looping hook to the body misses from Maybetter. Beast does a little dance to reset his feet.
Beast tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Beast throws a right and a left that Maybetter avoids nicely.
Maybetter looks to land a left hand but Beast moved out of range nicely.

Beast throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maybetter's waist but Maybetter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beast off to one side.
Floyd Maybetter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Beast.
Maybetter looks to land a right hand but Beast moved out of range.

Beast ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Beast shoots in and drives through. Maybetter sprawls well.
Beast takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looked like Maybetter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Maybetter misses with a few strikes there.

Beast shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maybetter's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Maybetter looking for a guillotine here but Beast defends easily.
Maybetter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beast.
Beast must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Maybetter is looking for a triangle but Beast pushes his legs off easily.

Beast thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Beast stops Maybetter from standing up.

Maybetter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beast defends well.

Beast trying to move into half guard but instead Maybetter has managed to sweep!

Beast tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Maybetter wants to control from the top but Beast keeps moving.
Beast is pulling down on Maybetter's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beast keeping moving, preventing Maybetter from controlling successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Maybetter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Maybetter slips nicely into half guard.

Maybetter seems to be looking for submissions.

Maybetter is looking for a kimura but Beast is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maybetter to get the leverage.
Beast manages to get to full guard.
Beast keeping moving, preventing Maybetter from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maybetter is really struggling to control Beast but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Floyd Maybetter dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Maybetter throws a hook but Beast blocks it.

and Beast counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Maybetter!
Beast grinds an elbow into Maybetter's temple.
Beast working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Maybetter is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at London MMA Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Maybetter tries to bench press Beast off him but Beast keeps the position.
Maybetter pushes Beast away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Beast gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Maybetter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beast wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Beast is putting a hurting on Maybetter here, landing some big shots from side control.
Beast prevents Maybetter from escaping the position.

Maybetter is not content to let Beast control the position.

Beast works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Maybetter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.


Maybetter is rocked!
Beast wants to control but Maybetter is keeping him busy.
Dave Beast has got the better of the ground game so far.
Maybetter taking a bit of punishment here - Beast scoring with strikes.
Oh Maybetter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maybetter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Maybetter seems to have got his legs back now.
Maybetter is trying to stand back up but Beast is controlling him

Beast is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Maybetter is hurt! He's hurt bad - Beast fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Maybetter from any more punishment! Congratulations to Beast! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Beast!
After winning the bout, Dave Beast thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
