Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Smith (ranked 3249 p4p, 351 weight class) and Billy Brown (ranked 3818 p4p, 404 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Papa Roach - Last Resort. Brown comes into a darkened arena with his song building. CCR - Bad Moon Rising kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Brown thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Smith cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Smith throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Brown connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've been hearing reports that Smith has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Brown moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith misses with a hook. Brown ducked under it nicely.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Brown is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.

Smith has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Brown escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Brown!
Smith tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.

Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brown looks up at the clock and then as Smith takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Smith!
Smith wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Brown.

Brown throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Smith because Brown loaded up on that one.

Brown working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Smith looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Brown! Submission of the night perhaps?
