PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hagen (ranked 24491 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazumi Mishima (ranked 5637 p4p, 0 weight class). Hagen comes to the cage accompanied by Thunder by Imagine Dragons. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Hagen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kazumi Mishima!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hagen is looking to clinch but Mishima is avoiding it.
Mishima tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hagen is able to avoid easily.

Mishima moves into the clinch.
Hagen fails to pull guard.
Mishima is pushing Hagen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hagen prevents a body shot from Mishima.

Mishima manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mishima slaps away a takedown attempt from Hagen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mishima throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mishima throws a lazy right hand but Hagen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hagen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mishima's waist but Mishima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hagen off to one side.

Hagen shoots for a takedown but Mishima saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hagen wants to clinch up but Mishima keeps it at a distance.
Mishima loads up on a big right hand but Hagen slips the punch.
It looked like Hagen was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Mishima misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hagen.
Mishima is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hagen rather than just go for the knockout.
Mishima lands a jab to the nose.
Mishima ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mishima. Hagen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jack Hagen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mishima slaps away a takedown attempt from Hagen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mishima now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Hagen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mishima but Mishima pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mishima! But no joy.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hagen.
Hagen is breathing heavily.

Mishima lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mishima punishes Hagen's body with a nice straight punch.
Mishima fakes the leg kick and cracks Hagen in the body.
Mishima stuffs the takedown attempt from Hagen. Hagen gets slowly back to his feet.
Mishima appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Mishima throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hagen looks to score with a jab to the body but Mishima is just out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mishima, right into the meat.
Mishima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hagen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Mishima swings for the body but Hagen moves out of range.

An inside leg kick lands from Mishima.
Mishima wants to clinch.
Mishima bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mishima lands a jab to the nose.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hagen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mishima wants to counter with a clinch but Hagen pushes him away.
Hagen dodges the punch combination from Mishima.
Mishima misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazumi Mishima dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mishima tries to work over Hagen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hagen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hagen wants to take the fight to the mat but Mishima manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mishima is trying to maintain a safe position but Hagen gets an underhook and turns Mishima into the cage.
Mishima slows down the pace here.

Mishima lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Mishima is trying to maintain a safe position but Hagen gets an underhook and turns Mishima into the cage.

Mishima has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mishima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hagen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hagen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mishima has worked his arm free - good work by Mishima!

Hagen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kazumi Mishima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hagen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mishima manages to avoid it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I've got Mishima winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
