Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladamir Slamenkov (ranked 6791 p4p, 612 weight class) and Daniel King (ranked 6218 p4p, 589 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladamir Slamenkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel King!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slamenkov.

Slamenkov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Slamenkov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Slamenkov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Slamenkov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed King's head.
Slamenkov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King wants to improve his position but Slamenkov is controlling well.
King has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Pablo's Boxing Academy. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Slamenkov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Slamenkov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slamenkov.

Slamenkov is working for a submission of some sort.
King regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've been hearing that Slamenkov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slamenkov is looking to stand up but King won't let him.
Slamenkov looking to pass the guard.
Slamenkov passes King's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Slamenkov wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
King keeping control of the position.

Slamenkov is looking for a kimura but King is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Slamenkov to get the leverage.
Slamenkov is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Slamenkov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Slamenkov seems to be looking for submissions.
Slamenkov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
King desperately trying to maintain half guard.
King is continuing to stall.
King wants to improve his position but Slamenkov is controlling well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King is defending against the submission attempts here by Slamenkov.
Slamenkov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Slamenkov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Slamenkov eventually gives up the hold.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slamenkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladamir Slamenkov dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Slamenkov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slamenkov is defended easily by King.
Slamenkov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladamir Slamenkov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slamenkov closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Slamenkov pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
King keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Slamenkov dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Slamenkov's head and hops out.
Vladamir Slamenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slamenkov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Slamenkov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
King with a body punch. A glancing blow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slamenkov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vladamir Slamenkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Slamenkov.
King scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

letting King counter with a right hand.
King thuds a left hand into Slamenkov's body.
Slamenkov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
King lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slamenkov at a distance.
The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Slamenkov doesn't seem phased though.
King uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Slamenkov has time to react.
Good exchange - King coming out on top.
King lands a jab to the nose.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slamenkov takes a shot right to the bread basket.
King lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


Slamenkov is rocked!
Slamenkov misses with a takedown attempt
and King counters with a huge right that knocks Slamenkov out cold! King is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
