Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seung Woo Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amir Topal!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim misses the jab.
Kim fails to land the takedown.
Topal blocks a head kick by Kim.
Kim shoots in but no luck this time.
Kim sets himself, and Topal steps forward looking for the clinch! Kim avoids it this time.
Topal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Topal wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seung Woo Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Topal closes the distance and clinches.
Topal has had enough of the clinch but Kim keeps him there for the moment.

Topal has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kim uses from the top position.
Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Topal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kim wants to clinch up but Topal keeps it at a distance.
Kim fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Topal shoots in looking for a takedown but Kim manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Topal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kim shoots in for a double leg but Topal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kim tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Topal blocks a head kick by Kim.
Topal steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kim.
Topal is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kim sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Topal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kim defends well and Topal ends up having to push Kim into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Danga de danga de dang - Topal scores with a four punch combination!
Kim missing with a left hand there. Topal was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kim tries to clinch there but Topal circles away.

Kim moves out of range as Topal throws a body kick.

Topal drives through and clinches with Kim against the cage.
Kim wants a takedown but no success here.
Topal tries to pull guard but Kim holds him up against the cage and eventually Topal drops back down to his feet.

Topal breaks the clinch.
Topal with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Topal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kim.
Topal misses with a takedown attempt - Kim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Topal tries for a takedown but Kim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kim fails with the takedown

and Topal counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Topal is trying to pull guard but Kim turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Topal tries to break free but Kim pushes him back against the cage.
Topal is pushing Kim up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Kim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kim stuffs the takedown attempt from Topal. Topal gets slowly back to his feet.
Topal avoids the head kick by Kim.

Kim clinches up with Topal and pushes him back against the cage.
Topal blocks an elbow strike from Kim.
Topal working hard to break the clinch.
Topal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kim fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Topal motions for Kim to come forward. Topal throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kim scores with a head kick. Topal tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Amir Topal has been cut.

Topal has Kim up against the cage in a clinch.
Kim is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Topal to keep the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Amir Topal will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kim is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Topal.
Kim fails with an attempt to clinch.
Topal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Topal tries to close the distance and clinch but Kim swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kim half committed to a counter leg kick.
Kim stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kim wants it to stay on the feet.
Seung Woo Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Topal throws a head kick that misses.
Topal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kim as he jumps to the side.
Kim stuffs the takedown attempt from Topal. Topal gets slowly back to his feet.
Seung Woo Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amir Topal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kim counters with a flying knee that drops Topal! Kim dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
