Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jules Winnfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stick Kingkong!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winnfield drives through with a takedown into Kingkong's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Winnfield drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kingkong looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kingkong looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kingkong!

Kingkong just content to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kingkong wants to stand but Winnfield is controlling his arm.
Kingkong throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Kingkong tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winnfield is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kingkong's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Winnfield tries to roll over but Kingkong keeps him under control.

Winnfield trying to hold on to Kingkong's head to control him but Kingkong postures up.
Winnfield blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kingkong.
Kingkong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Winnfield. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Winnfield is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Kingkong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kingkong is keen to just control but Winnfield is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winnfield moves into full guard.
Kingkong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Winnfield keeping moving, preventing Kingkong from controlling successfully.
Kingkong's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kingkong would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Winnfield rushes Kingkong and presses him up against the cage.
Kingkong gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Winnfield.
Winnfield has Kingkong pressed against the cage, preventing Kingkong from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kingkong looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kingkong tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Winnfield's elbow.
Kingkong trying to control the position but instead, Winnfield has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kingkong into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Winnfield escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kingkong stuffs the takedown attempt from Winnfield. Winnfield gets slowly back to his feet.
Winnfield avoids a punch combination nicely.
Winnfield seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Kingkong works over Winnfield's head and body with a nice combination.
Winnfield lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Winnfield holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kingkong wanted to stand there but Winnfield had control of the position.

Kingkong looking to sit in guard and control but Winnfield gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kingkong wants to sweep but no luck.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kingkong wants to stand and escape but Winnfield is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jules Winnfield will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kingkong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Winnfield.
Kingkong throws a shot from downtown. Winnfield moves away and avoids it.
Winnfield was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Kingkong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Winnfield really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kingkong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kingkong misses the jab.
Winnfield lands the left hand.
Winnfield defending well as Kingkong loads up on a big left hand.
Winnfield drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kingkong sprawls and moves away.
Kingkong looks to score with a jab to the body but Winnfield is just out of range.
Winnfield swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Winnfield displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kingkong throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kingkong misses with a two punch combination.
Kingkong throws a right and a left that Winnfield avoids nicely.
Kingkong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Winnfield was well out of range. Poor timing from Kingkong.
Kingkong connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Winnfield takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Winnfield defending well as Kingkong loads up on a big left hand.
Stick Kingkong seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winnfield lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Winnfield looks to land a right hand but Kingkong moved out of range.

Winnfield has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kingkong tries to break free but Winnfield pushes him back against the cage.

Winnfield escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Winnfield shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kingkong napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kingkong tries to buck Winnfield off but Winnfield is having none of it.
Winnfield in side control, throwing shots but Kingkong defends.

Winnfield is looking to take a break and control but Kingkong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kingkong is looking to reverse the position.

Winnfield goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kingkong rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Winnfield's guard! Nice work there by Kingkong!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kingkong trying to control but Winnfield is working from the bottom.
Winnfield has control of Kingkong's left arm, preventing Kingkong from doing any damage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winnfield is on top in guard.

Winnfield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kingkong wants to stand and escape but Winnfield is having none of it.
Winnfield tries to free his leg and advance position but Kingkong is retaining full guard.
Winnfield controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Winnfield trying to control the position from guard on top but Kingkong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kingkong has Winnfield pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Winnfield avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kingkong!

Winnfield throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kingkong was covering up waiting for the punch and Winnfield finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Winnfield works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kingkong is trying to stand.

Winnfield is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kingkong is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jules Winnfield!
Stick Kingkong was interviewed post fight and said 'I will be back!!!'.
