Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ritchie Souza (ranked 2189 p4p, 270 weight class) and Roy Finnegan (ranked 1688 p4p, 220 weight class). Souza's entrance music is Gwen Stefani-Luxurious. A fine choice. Finnegan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Rogues - Gravel Walk. Ritchie Souza is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Finnegan was covering up waiting for the punch and Souza finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Finnegan is adopting a defensive guard.

Souza closes the distance and clinches up with Finnegan, looking for a takedown. Souza pushes Finnegan against the cage but Finnegan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Finnegan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Souza gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Finnegan counters with a nice right hand that sends Souza toppling to the canvas! Souza scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Finnegan finish him?!

Souza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Finnegan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Souza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Finnegan looks to land a left hand but Souza moved out of range nicely.

Finnegan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Finnegan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but Finnegan shows good takedown defense.

Souza is looking to clinch.
Finnegan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Souza. Souza circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Finnegan fails to land with a series of punches.

Souza rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Finnegan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Finnegan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Oh Souza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Souza avoids the body shot from Finnegan.
Souza seems to have got his legs back now.
Ritchie Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Finnegan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Finnegan lands with an overhand left.

Souza shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Finnegan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Finnegan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Souza off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Souza shoots in looking for a takedown. Finnegan tries to sprawl out of it but Souza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Finnegan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Finnegan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Souza wants to clinch.
Souza has his takedown stuffed

and Finnegan counters with a crisp one two that drops Souza! Finnegan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Souza to his feet! Souza is in big trouble!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Souza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Souza moves in looking to clinch but Finnegan pushes him off.
A punch lands to the side of Souza 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Souza takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Souza tries for a takedown but Finnegan circles away easily
and Finnegan comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Souza stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Finnegan is on him like rabid pit bull! Souza slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
