Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Palmer (ranked 6734 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 2397 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Palmer !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marco Polo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer misses with a takedown
and Polo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Palmer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Polo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Palmer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Palmer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmer content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Polo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Palmer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Palmer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Palmer trying to control but Polo is working from the bottom.
Polo looking for a sweep. Not yet Polo, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palmer 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Palmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Polo sizes up Palmer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Polo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Palmer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Palmer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Palmer is rocked!
Polo cracks Palmer with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Palmer tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Polo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Palmer is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marco Polo!
