And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 4 losses; Ronald Dela Rosa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The referee asks Gracie politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gracie prefers to stall for the moment though.

Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dela Rosa for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dela Rosa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
You can see the frustration on Dela Rosa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Gracie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dela Rosa has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dela Rosa is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Gracie.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Gracie is stinking the place up with his stalling.
