Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between The Steel Penn (ranked 3785 p4p, 182 weight class) and Rafael Mendes (ranked 3831 p4p, 184 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that The Steel Penn has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily The Steel Penn seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 8 losses; The Steel Penn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 4 losses; Rafael Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Mendes closes the distance and clinches.
Mendes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Steel Penn gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Steel Penn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Steel Penn's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
