Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Young Guy (ranked 4867 p4p, 484 weight class) and Mike Leoni (ranked 24809 p4p, 593 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leoni drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Guy wants to get back to his feet but Leoni passes into half guard.
Guy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Leoni looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Guy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leoni on the ground.
Leoni passes the guard and advances to mount!
Guy trying desperately to get to his feet.

Leoni working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Guy looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Leoni! Submission of the night perhaps?

After the fight, Mike Leoni was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
