PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Reynold March (ranked 2892 p4p, 318 weight class) and Tommy Tickler (ranked 3504 p4p, 369 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reynold March!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Tickler!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
March dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tickler. That did some damage!
Tickler swings for the body but March moves out of range.
March wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Tickler fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
March lands a nice looking body kick.
March throws a head kick but Tickler moves out of range.
March cracks Tickler with a good jab.
Tickler connects with a good right hand that stumbles March. March circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
March pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A left and a right from Tickler both land. Nice combination.

March instigates a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
March blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Tickler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
March wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

March is trying to push Tickler away but Tickler has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Tickler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but March moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

March has had enough of the clinch but Tickler keeps him there for the moment.

Tickler throws a nice looking combination but March bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
March lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by March.
March misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

March closes the distance and pushes Tickler back into the ropes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
March wants to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tickler takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That was a close round but I would say that Reynold March will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

March is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tickler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but March circles away quickly and effectively.
March seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Reynold March is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Tickler stalks March and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into March's face. March staggers backwards, shaken.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tommy Tickler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
