PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Sixx (ranked 4298 p4p, 98 weight class) and Jaxson Wilder (ranked 2668 p4p, 47 weight class). Sixx comes to the cage accompanied by The Fire of Power by WATAIN. Jaxson Wilder told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixx thows a left - swing and a miss!
Wilder swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sixx throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sixx misses with a series of wild punches.
Wilder ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Wilder gets tackled into the cage by Sixx. Sixx maintains the clinch.

Wilder is pressed up against the cage. Sixx has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wilder down to the mat. Wilder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Wilder parries the strikes from Sixx easily there. Sixx is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wilder to escape.
Sixx wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilder keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sixx misses with the ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Sixx's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Wilder prevents Sixx from moving into mount.

Sixx goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wilder rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sixx's guard! Nice work there by Wilder!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sixx has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wilder is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sixx.

As Wilder looks to move away, Sixx throws a big counter combo but Wilder just gets out of the way.
Vinnie Sixx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sixx has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wilder is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sixx lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
