PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kai Perkins (ranked 958 p4p, 111 weight class) and Philip Ziskie (ranked 954 p4p, 110 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Philip Ziskie!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ziskie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Perkins is looking to counter punch.
Ziskie clobbers Perkins with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ziskie jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ziskie looks to land a right hand but Perkins moved out of range.
A quick step to the side and Perkins tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Perkins defending well as Ziskie loads up on a big left hand.
Jab by Ziskie.
Perkins moves away from the strike by Ziskie.
Ziskie throws a body shot but no joy.

Perkins gets caught napping as Ziskie dives in and scores a takedown. Perkins manages to retain guard.
Ziskie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Perkins 's head.
Ziskie pushing down on Perkins 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ziskie trying to control the action but Perkins is working from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ziskie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Perkins has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ziskie trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ziskie landing strikes from the mount and Perkins is in trouble!
Perkins wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ziskie.

You get the feeling that Perkins really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ziskie looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ziskie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You get the feeling that Perkins really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Ziskie throws some wild stikes that Perkins manages to avoid easily.
Ziskie trying to control but Perkins is having none of it.
Perkins is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Poor strikes thrown by Ziskie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Ziskie quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ziskie but it's paid off an Perkins is forced to tap! Nice work by Ziskie.
