The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcknight fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Derwin lands with a good body shot.
Derwin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mcknight throws a right and a left that both miss.
Robbie Derwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Derwin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Derwin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcknight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcknight throws a counter high kick but Derwin was just alert enough to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcknight shoots for a double leg takedown but Derwin sprawls well. He's pushed Mcknight's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Derwin throws a combination. Mcknight tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Robbie Derwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcknight fails with a takedown attempt.
As Mcknight backs off Derwin throws a huge counter combo but Mcknight manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vaughn Mcknight. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Derwin is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Derwin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Mcknight works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Mcknight has hold of Derwin's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Derwin seems comfortable defending it but Mcknight has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Derwin is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Derwin is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mcknight couldn't care less - he's delighted!
