Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shark Attack (ranked 2995 p4p, 369 weight class) and Rodney Garcia (ranked 2512 p4p, 322 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 35 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shark Attack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 27 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodney Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garcia feints and as Attack raises his hands in defense, Garcia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Garcia controlling from the top position.
Garcia works over Attack with some ground and pound from guard.
Garcia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Garcia wants to pass the guard but Attack is keeping the position.
Garcia won't allow Attack to sweep him here.
Attack being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia postures up in Attack's guard and throws a big left but Attack blocks it.

Attack might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Garcia wants to control from the top but Attack keeps moving.

Attack is looking for a triangle but Garcia pushes his legs off easily.
Garcia won't allow Attack to sweep him here.
Garcia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Attack wants to get back to full guard.
Garcia lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Attack tries to get to full guard but Garcia has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Attack is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.
Still in half guard, Garcia seems content to control.

Let's hope that Garcia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garcia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Attack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Garcia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Garcia is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Garcia is nestled in close to Attack, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Garcia is keen to just control but Attack is a slippery customer.
Attack is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Garcia in particular looking to stall.
Attack wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garcia stands up over Attack, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Attack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Garcia chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

My spies in Official UFC Performance Institute Training Center inform me that Garcia has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Attack seems to have got his legs back now.
Attack is in a horrible position here. Garcia smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The referee warns Attack that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Garcia lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Garcia lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Attack! Garcia sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Attack and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rodney Garcia!
An out of breath Rodney Garcia thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
