Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
35 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayde West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar Larraza!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larraza misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
West throws a big counter combination but Larraza scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Larraza takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
West throws a series of punches but Larraza moves out of range.
Larraza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Larraza tries to clinch but West is having none of it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts West, as that shot connected.
West scores with a head kick.
West bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Whack! West lands a heavy head kick that drops Larraza. The ref tackles West to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Larraza was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Wayde West!
Wayde West decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
