Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Paul Carp (ranked 2731 p4p, 344 weight class) and Jimbo Cricky (ranked 3183 p4p, 392 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Paul Carp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimbo Cricky!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cricky slips a jab from Carp.
Carp takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cricky is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carp.
Carp appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Carp takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Carp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cricky paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Carp lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cricky throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Carp takes a swing at Cricky's ribcage but misses.
Cricky throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Carp counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cricky tries to bum rush Carp with a series of wild strikes but Carp uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cricky throws a looping overhand right but Carp ducks down to avoid it.

Carp drops his hands momentarily and Cricky takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Carp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cricky's head.
Carp throws a lazy right hand but Cricky sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cricky swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Carp loads up on a big right hand but Cricky slips the punch.

Carp tries to work over Cricky's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Cricky blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cricky has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Cricky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carp.

It looks like Jimbo Cricky has been cut.

Carp is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Carp swings for the body but Cricky moves out of range.
Cricky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carp moves away.
It looked like Carp wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Carp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
