Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Hayesless (ranked 5075 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Mane (ranked 24975 p4p, 0 weight class). Mane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the Tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sergio Mane looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anderson Hayesless!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sergio Mane!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayesless shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mane but Mane pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mane looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A head kick by Mane misses
and Hayesless makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hayesless fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hayesless misses with a takedown attempt - Mane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Hayesless. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hayesless closes the distance and clinches.
Hayesless goes for a takedown attempt but Mane pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mane fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hayesless has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hayesless shoots in for a takedown but Mane shows good takedown defense.
Mane lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mane misses with an uppercut.
Mane misses with a leg kick.
Mane fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mane throws a series of punches but Hayesless moves out of range.
Mane fails with a takedown attempt.
Mane doesn't manage to clinch there - Hayesless circles away.

Hayesless moves into the clinch.

Hayesless breaks the clinch.
Hayesless looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mane is fending him off so far but Hayesless persists. Nope, Mane circles away and we're back to standing.
And Mane tries to counter it with a takedown but Hayesless pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mane avoids the head kick by Hayesless.
Hayesless shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mane but Mane pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mane keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mane blocks a head kick by Hayesless.
Hayesless looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mane is fending him off so far but Hayesless persists. Nope, Mane circles away and we're back to standing.
Mane unleashes a big counter combination but Hayesless bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mane.

Mane fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hayesless sprawls well initially but Mane persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hayesless has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mane is on him like a limpet, forcing Hayesless back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hayesless digs a right hand underneath Mane's ribcage. Mane let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hayesless's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hayesless pushes Mane up against the cage in a clinch.
Hayesless tries to pull guard but Mane forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Mane manages to break the clinch.

Hayesless gets the takedown into side control.

Hayesless tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hayesless has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hayesless controlling the position.
Mane tries to bench press Hayesless off him but Hayesless keeps the position.

Hayesless thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ground and pound from Hayesless seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hayesless controlling the position from side mount.

Hayesless decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mane to his feet.
Hayesless shoots in for a takedown but Mane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hayesless misses with a few strikes there.
An inside leg kick from Mane misses.
Hayesless fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hayesless throws a sloppy head kick and Mane moves out of range easily.
Hayesless darts in looking for a takedown but Mane gets double underhooks and turns Hayesless into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Hayesless dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mane has his takedown stuffed
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Hayesless counters with a nice uppercut.
Hayesless shoots for a double leg takedown but Mane sprawls well. He's pushed Hayesless's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hayesless.
Hayesless lands a body shot.
Mane connects with a solid leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mane shoots in looking for a takedown but Hayesless manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hayesless lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hayesless goes for a double leg but Mane avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mane continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Hayesless. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hayesless lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hayesless.

Hayesless clinches up with Mane and pushes him back against the cage.
Hayesless is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mane to keep the fight standing.

Mane drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hayesless pushes Mane off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Hayesless shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mane pinned against the cage. Mane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Hayesless moves into the clinch successfully.
Hayesless tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mane avoids it.
Mane drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mane looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Mane takes a shot to the head.
Mane is looking to control Hayesless's arms but Hayesless gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mane has his back to the cage.

Hayesless escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayesless has a takedown stuffed.
Hayesless tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mane defends well and Hayesless ends up having to push Mane into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hayesless shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mane napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hayesless controls the position from side control.
Mane is not content to let Hayesless control the position.
Mane tries to escape but Hayesless is in control.

Hayesless's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hayesless stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hayesless throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hayesless shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mane sprawls well. Mane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hayesless gets slowly back to his feet.
Mane steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Hayesless.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mane rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hayesless connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hayesless or perhaps it was just good defense by Mane, which made it look bad.
Hayesless on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Good leg kick by Mane there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Mane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hayesless pinned against the cage. Hayesless gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hayesless closes the distance and clinches up with Mane, looking for a takedown. Hayesless pushes Mane against the cage but Mane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mane shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayesless sprawls well. He's pushed Mane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mane shoots in but Hayesless avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hayesless throws a head kick that misses.
Hayesless fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mane avoids it really well and circles away.
Mane lands with a kick to the temple. Hayesless shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Hayesless scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mane motions for Hayesless to come forward. Mane throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hayesless fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hayesless shoots in and bounces Mane off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mane manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hayesless pulls guard.
Hayesless working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mane.
Mane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hayesless swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sergio Mane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anderson Hayesless is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hayesless lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anderson Hayesless.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hayesless, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
