Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lazy Bastard (ranked 1255 p4p, 151 weight class) and Steve Sanchez (ranked 1038 p4p, 122 weight class). Sanchez has chosen Where is My Mind? by Pixies as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Bastard misses.
Sanchez is looking for the big counter here.
A shot to the body from Bastard misses
and Sanchez counters with a nice right hand that sends Bastard toppling to the canvas! Bastard scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Sanchez finish him?!
Bastard is rocked!
Sanchez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bastard is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Lazy Bastard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Bastard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bastard throws a body punch but Sanchez moves out of range.
It seemed like Sanchez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Bastard seems to have got his legs back now.
Bastard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sanchez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bastard throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanchez counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sanchez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sanchez looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Sanchez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Bastard thuds a left hand into Sanchez's body.
Bastard with a nice cross.
Bastard misses with the combination.
Bastard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanchez circles away quickly and effectively.

and Bastard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bastard.
Bastard connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sanchez. Sanchez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bastard throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sanchez counters with a crisp one two that drops Bastard! Sanchez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bastard to his feet! Bastard is in big trouble!
Bastard throws a hook to the side of Sanchez's head but Sanchez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sanchez now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Bastard misses the body punch
and Sanchez rattles Bastard with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Bastard tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Sanchez dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Bastard stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Steve Sanchez!
A relieved looking Steve Sanchez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
