Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shae Ophof (ranked 5165 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Arsenyev (ranked 4978 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shae Ophof!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuri Arsenyev!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arsenyev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ophof but Ophof pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ophof moves into the clinch.

Ophof wants to stand and escape but instead Arsenyev has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Arsenyev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ophof swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Arsenyev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ophof swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Arsenyev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ophof knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Arsenyev on the ground.

Ophof shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ophof showed some decent athleticism there.

Arsenyev shoots in for a takedown but Ophof shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ophof tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Arsenyev smiles and moves away.

Ophof really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Arsenyev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Arsenyev using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ophof has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ophof is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Arsenyev is defending well for now.

Arsenyev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Arsenyev prevents Ophof from breaking the clinch.
Ophof is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Arsenyev to keep the fight standing.

Arsenyev digs a right hand underneath Ophof's ribcage. Ophof let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Yuri Arsenyev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ophof is trying to drag Arsenyev to the mat but Arsenyev just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Arsenyev will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ophof up against the cage.
Ophof drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Arsenyev gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Ophof is looking to clinch but Arsenyev is avoiding it.
Some wild striking there from Arsenyev.
Arsenyev throws a sloppy head kick and Ophof moves out of range easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ophof is trying to pull guard but Arsenyev has him pressed against the cage.
Arsenyev's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Ophof swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Yuri Arsenyev is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ophof misses with a takedown attempt - Arsenyev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Yuri Arsenyev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Arsenyev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Yuri Arsenyev spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
