Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Norris Travis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Clark!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Travis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clark quickly recovers to half guard.
Travis slows the pace down in half guard.
Travis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Clark for as long as he can get away with.

Travis is looking for a kimura here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Travis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clark's head.

Travis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Clark decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Clark lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Norris Travis has been cut.
Clark takes a swing at Travis's ribcage but misses.
Travis throws a counter high kick but Clark was just alert enough to avoid it.

Travis thuds a left hand into Clark's body.
Travis shoots for a double leg takedown but Clark sprawls well. He's pushed Travis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Travis tries to clinch up but Clark circles away and keeps his distance.

Travis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clark looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A lull in the action here as Travis stalls from top position.
Clark felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Clark has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Clark falls off balance throwing a combination
and Travis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Clark stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Clark wants it to stay on the feet.

Travis tries to counter with a takedown but Clark is quick to defend against it.
Nice takedown defense from Clark. No joy for Travis on that attempt.
Sam Clark seems to be getting the better of the standup.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick from Travis lands but Clark takes it in his stride.
Travis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clark pinned against the cage. Clark gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Travis tries to clinch up.
Clark takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Travis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Clark moves away.
Clark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A combination from Travis does no damage.

Clark pushes Travis up against the cage in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Clark is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Travis successfully pulls guard.

Travis will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Travis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Clark manages to get himself to full guard.

Travis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

I would just about give that final round to Sam Clark.
