Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus McDougall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khon Saroth!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saroth stalks McDougall and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McDougall's face. McDougall staggers backwards, shaken.
McDougall catches Saroth with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Saroth tries to clinch there but McDougall circles away.
McDougall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McDougall stuffs the takedown attempt from Saroth. Saroth gets slowly back to his feet.
It looked like McDougall was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Saroth. McDougall shrugs it off though.
McDougall moves out of range as Saroth throws a body kick.

McDougall forces Saroth back against the cage and clinches.

Saroth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Saroth gets tackled into the cage by McDougall. McDougall maintains the clinch.

Saroth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Saroth tries to clinch but McDougall moves out of range.

McDougall instigates a clinch.
McDougall misses with a hook from the clinch.

Saroth has McDougall pressed against the cage, preventing McDougall from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
McDougall wants to take the fight to the mat but Saroth manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McDougall blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Saroth controlling the action here for a moment.

Saroth breaks the clinch.

McDougall forces Saroth back against the cage and clinches.

Saroth has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McDougall uses from the top position.

Saroth is looking to sweep but instead, McDougall has passed into half guard.

McDougall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
McDougall has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Saroth tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McDougall tries to control but Saroth wriggling away.
McDougall is in the full mount, landing strikes.

McDougall takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

McDougall working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Saroth looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by McDougall! Submission of the night perhaps?
