Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ze Serra (ranked 7552 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herschel Daniels (ranked 6369 p4p, 0 weight class). Serra's entrance music is Zombie. A fine choice. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ze Serra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Herschel Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Daniels.
Serra looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Serra tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance.
Serra misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Daniels throws a head kick but Serra moves out of range.

Daniels pushes Serra up against the cage in a clinch.
Serra has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Daniels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Daniels misses with a knee strike.

Daniels drags the fight down to the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Serra preventing the sweep.
Daniels is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Daniels trying to keep a closed guard but Serra is proving a slippery customer.

Serra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Serra throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Serra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Daniels escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Serra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Serra throws an elbow that misses. Daniels uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Serra's guard. Nice move by Daniels!

Serra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Serra wants to improve his position but instead Daniels has moved into half guard.
Daniels wants to take a breather but Serra is having none of it.
Daniels controlling the pace.
Daniels frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Serra wants to try and get back to his feet.

Serra blocking the ground and pound.
Daniels looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Serra tries to hold on but Daniels postures up.
Poor strikes thrown by Daniels there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Daniels throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Daniels tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like Daniels might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Daniels unloads with some shots from mount but Serra bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Serra slaps away a takedown attempt from Daniels, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Daniels closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Daniels tries to pull guard but Serra forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Daniels throws an elbow but it's blocked.
We've been informed that Daniels has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Daniels has Serra pressed against the cage, preventing Serra from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Daniels lands a knee to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels breaks the clinch.
Serra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ze Serra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Daniels dives in for a single leg takedown but Serra sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Daniels shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Serra pinned against the cage. Serra gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Daniels looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Serra with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Serra throws a front kick that sends Daniels stumbling back into the cage.
Serra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Serra throws a right and a left that both miss.

Nice takedown defense from Serra. No joy for Daniels on that attempt.
Serra went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Daniels blocks a head kick by Serra.
Sloppy strikes from Serra. Those never looked like landing.
Daniels darts in looking for a takedown but Serra gets double underhooks and turns Daniels into the cage.

Serra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Serra wants it to stay on the feet.

Daniels on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Daniels clinches up with Serra and pushes him back against the cage.
Daniels struggles to land a body shot inside as Serra controls his hands.
Daniels pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Our sources have told us that Serra has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Daniels is trying to pull guard but Serra turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Daniels tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Serra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Serra throws a counter high kick but Daniels was just alert enough to avoid it.
Serra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Daniels.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Herschel Daniels comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Daniels has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
