Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bret Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bart Brick!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brick drops Lane with a left and a right! Oh, Lane is hurt - Brick dives into side control looking to finish!


It looks like Bret Lane has been cut.

Brick looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Lane is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brick lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Brick is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lane manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brick's best efforts.

Lane wants to get back to his feet.

Brick is looking for a kimura but Lane is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brick to get the leverage.

Brick is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lane loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Brick has his foot on Lane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lane works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

It looked like Lane was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brick.

Lane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brick was well out of range. Poor timing from Lane.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Brick shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lane is trying to defend but Brick finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lane tries to roll over but Brick keeps him under control.
Brick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bart Brick has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brick winds up and cracks Lane with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brick pushes down on Lane's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Brick is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lane sees it coming and defends easily.
Brick has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lane is wriggling around trying to escape.

Brick fails to take his opponent's back.
Lane is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Lane tries to reverse the position but Brick maintains control.

Brick goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lane is on top in guard.

Brick is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lane is aware though and is defending well.
Brick is breathing heavily.

Lane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lane lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lane trying to control the position from guard on top but Brick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brick has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Lane should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Brick has tightened it up now! Lane should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
