Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar shoots for a takedown but Mayde saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Escobar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mayde manages to avoid it.

Mayde clinches up against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Escobar obliges.
Escobar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Mayde.
Escobar blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Mayde manages to break the clinch.
Mayde defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Escobar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mayde throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mayde shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Escobar eats them both and turns towards Mayde to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Pablo Escobar has been cut.
Escobar tries to land a front kick but Mayde steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Escobar has managed to clinch.

Escobar's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Escobar swings wildly with an uppercut but Mayde uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mayde breaks from the clinch.
Escobar lands a front kick.

Escobar pushes Mayde off but Mayde dives into side control.
Mayde creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Escobar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Escobar is trying to buck Mayde off.
Mayde takes a little break here. Escobar wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Mayde stands up.
Mayde attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Escobar looking to score a takedown here. Mayde is defending well but Escobar drives through and ends up in Mayde's guard.
Mayde manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Escobar manages to get himself to full guard.

Mayde passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Escobar!
Escobar is breathing heavily.
Escobar wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mayde looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Escobar is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Escobar is trying to roll into a better position but Mayde has get a rear naked choke and Escobar is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
