Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Butch Coolidge (ranked 4220 p4p, 450 weight class) and Brian Baggs (ranked 3042 p4p, 364 weight class). Coolidge comes to the cage accompanied by twenty one pilots - Stressed Out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Butch Coolidge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baggs!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Coolidge is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Baggs.
Coolidge finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Baggs throws a chopping leg kick but Coolidge manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Baggs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Baggs has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Coolidge is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A jab from Coolidge misses.
Baggs swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Coolidge throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Baggs sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baggs throws a body shot but no joy.
No joy there for Baggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Baggs moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A jab from Baggs misses.
A big right from Coolidge misses.
Baggs tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Coolidge is able to avoid easily.
Coolidge throws a body shot but no joy.
Coolidge throws a big shot that misses.

and Baggs counters with a straight right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Coolidge.
Coolidge throws a hook but Baggs blocks it.
Coolidge tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Baggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Coolidge.
Baggs throws out a counter right but Coolidge avoids it with no problem.

Baggs turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Coolidge misses with an uppercut. Baggs saw that one coming.
Donk. Baggs catches Coolidge right on the button with a cross.
Coolidge thows a left - swing and a miss!

Coolidge keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Butch Coolidge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Baggs. Coolidge does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Baggs counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Baggs misses with a few strikes there.
Baggs shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Coolidge eats them both and turns towards Baggs to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coolidge looks to throw the jab but Baggs is out of range.
Coolidge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Coolidge throws a right hand that Baggs ducks under and follows up with a left that Baggs also avoids with ease.

Coolidge looks to land a body kick but Baggs moved away.
Baggs feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Coolidge's calf.
Baggs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Coolidge keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Baggs lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Baggs throws an off balance right hand
and Coolidge cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Baggs misses the shot to the body.
Baggs pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Coolidge back to the cage. Baggs follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Butch Coolidge has been cut.
Baggs throws a shot from downtown. Coolidge moves away and avoids it.
A bone on bone clash there as Baggs blocks the leg kick.
Coolidge lunges at Baggs with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Baggs's hand.
Baggs tests Coolidge's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Coolidge looks to throw the jab but Baggs is out of range.
Baggs takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Coolidge is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Baggs's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Coolidge throws the left hand but Baggs avoids the punch easily.
Baggs throws a shot to the body.

Coolidge throws a right and a left that Baggs avoids nicely.
Coolidge throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Coolidge lands with a straight right. Baggs didn't see that one coming.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Baggs!
Baggs catches Coolidge with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Coolidge takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Baggs throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Baggs scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Baggs dips to his left and cracks Coolidge with an uppercut!
Coolidge fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Baggs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Baggs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Coolidge.
Baggs throws a nice looking combination but Coolidge bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Good shot there by Baggs.
Coolidge throws a lazy right hand but Baggs sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Baggs connects with a single shot there.


Coolidge is rocked!
Baggs has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Baggs lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Coolidge falls backwards - clearly groggy! Baggs dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Baggs!
A relieved looking Brian Baggs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
