The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derrick lands with a good body shot.
Sranc takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Derrick looks to land a combination but Sranc avoids it well.
Sranc tries to land a body kick
and Derrick counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Derrick pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sranc closes the distance but Derrick moves to the side
and Derrick counters with a two punch combo.
Joe Derrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Derrick wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sranc wants to clinch
letting Derrick counter with a right hand.
Sranc just misses with a punch to the body.

Sranc shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Sranc gets to his feet - Derrick follows without any prompting.
Sranc throws a sloppy head kick and Derrick moves out of range easily.
Sranc wants to clinch but Derrick slips to the side
and Derrick counters with a left and a right that stings Sranc.

Derrick avoids the head kick by Sranc.
Sranc fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Derrick manages to avoid it.
Derrick throws a series of punches but Sranc avoids them all with ease.
Derrick dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Derrick cracks Sranc with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Sranc moves in looking to clinch but Derrick pushes him off.
Derrick throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sranc throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Derrick counters with a right hand to the body.
Sranc misses with a right hand
enabling Derrick to counter with a crisp jab.
Derrick should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sranc tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sranc has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sranc tries to pull guard but Derrick forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Sranc jumps guard but Derrick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Sranc misses with a short punch on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Derrick is trying to break the clinch but Sranc has him pressed against the cage.

Sranc breaks the clinch.

Sranc takes the fight into the clinch.
Derrick tries to stall but Sranc uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sranc lands a takedown into guard.
Sranc not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Derrick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sranc is one step ahead there.

Sranc gets to his feet. Derrick looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Sranc takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Joe Derrick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Derrick scores with the left hand. Sranc knows he should have avoided that one.
Derrick lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sranc at a distance.

Sranc shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sranc was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sranc is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Derrick is trying to escape and Sranc transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Derrick is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sranc! Very nice indeed!
