The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Azevedo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Palmer to the mat! Palmer manages to get full guard.

Azevedo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Azevedo wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving.
Palmer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Azevedo trying to control but Palmer is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Azevedo wants to pass the guard but Palmer is keeping the position.
Palmer trying to keep a closed guard but Azevedo is proving a slippery customer.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Palmer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Azevedo's half guard.

Azevedo is trying to maintain the position but Palmer is very close to passing his half guard.

Palmer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Palmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Azevedo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Palmer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Azevedo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Palmer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Palmer looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Palmer has hold of Azevedo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Azevedo seems comfortable defending it but Palmer has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Azevedo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Azevedo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Palmer couldn't care less - he's delighted!
