The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters misses with a wild combination.
Winters pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brooks is out of range and Winters settles back down.
Brooks throws a quick inside leg kick.
Winters throws a leg kick that is checked

and Brooks counters by clinching up.

Winters manages to break the clinch.
Winters throws a jab but it's blocked by Brooks.
A slapping body kick lands there for Brooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A clash of legs there as Brooks blocks the low kick.
Winters misses with an uppercut. Brooks saw that one coming.
Despite the aggression on Brooks's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Decent striking displayed by Winters there.
Brooks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Winters.
Winters appears to be looking for a big counter.

Brooks throws a left and a right that both miss
and Winters counters with a one-two to the body.
Winters misses the body punch
and Brooks counters with a nice low kick that buckles Winters's knee momentarily.
Winters misses with a few strikes there.
Brooks checks the leg kick.

Brooks scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Brooks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Winters defends it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brooks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Winters doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brooks.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
