Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaspars Petrovs (ranked 2729 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kick Face (ranked 6346 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrovs closes the distance and pushes Face back into the cage.
Face can't break the clinch.
Petrovs using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Petrovs tries to land knees in the clinch but Face avoids the damage to the body.
Petrovs lands a good knee to the midsection. Face won't want to take too many of those.
Face takes a knee to the side of the body.

Petrovs manages to pull guard.
Petrovs seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Face wanted to stand there but Petrovs had control of the position.

Face really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petrovs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Petrovs had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Face defends it easily.

Face wants to stand but Petrovs is controlling his posture from full guard.

Face got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petrovs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Face has managed to get both his arms back between Petrovs's legs - danger averted.
Petrovs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Face manages to get himself to full guard.

Face can't keep his opponent in guard - Petrovs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Petrovs moves into full mount! Face won't be happy about that!

Petrovs is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Face is surviving well by controlling Petrovs's body position as best he can.

After winning the bout, Kaspars Petrovs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
