Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Swango (ranked 1262 p4p, 172 weight class) and Eddie Alpha (ranked 2177 p4p, 270 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Swango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Alpha!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swango connects with a jab.
Alpha throws a shot from downtown. Swango moves away and avoids it.
Swango throws a right and a left that Alpha avoids nicely.
Swango misses with an uppercut.
Alpha tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A punch lands to the side of Alpha 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Eddie Alpha has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alpha has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Swango misses the jab.
Alpha throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Swango counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Alpha walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Swango really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alpha takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Swango throws a hook but Alpha avoids it easily.
Alpha with the counter takedown but Swango avoids it easily.
Alpha slips a straight right by Swango.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alpha misses with a jab, cross combination.
Swango looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Alpha tries to close the distance and clinch but Swango swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alpha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Swango fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Alpha looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Swango scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Alpha is rocked!
Swango drops Alpha with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Alpha! Swango dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
