Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flod Maquiether (ranked 4974 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Matthew (ranked 24083 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Flod Maquiether!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Matthew !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maquiether tries to clinch up but Matthew circles away and keeps his distance.

Matthew clinches.

Matthew breaks from the clinch.
Maquiether tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Matthew counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Maquiether pushes Matthew off but Matthew dives into side control.
Matthew cracks Maquiether with a big right hand but Maquiether just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Maquiether could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Matthew thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Matthew controlling from side mount.
Maquiether tries to bench press Matthew off him but Matthew keeps the position.

Matthew is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Maquiether will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matthew trying to control the position but Maquiether is working away.
Maquiether is pushing Matthew 's head away, looking to escape. Matthew manages to hold on to the position though.
Maquiether is trying to improve his position.

Matthew is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maquiether has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Matthew lands a decent elbow from side control.
Maquiether is looking for a sweep.
Maquiether is working to avoid the ground and pound but Matthew connects with a decent elbow.
Maquiether avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Matthew .
Maquiether is looking for a sweep.

Matthew has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Matthew gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Maquiether connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A telegraphed right hand from Matthew misses the target.
Maquiether is looking to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Matthew breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matthew looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maquiether will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Matthew tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maquiether swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Matthew shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maquiether as he jumps to the side.

Maquiether throws a series of punches but Matthew avoids them all with ease.

Matthew displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maquiether.
Maquiether is breathing heavily.
Maquiether shoots in and drives through. Matthew sprawls well.

Matthew drives through with a takedown into guard.
Matthew stops Maquiether from standing up.

Maquiether working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matthew doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matthew manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maquiether can't keep his opponent in guard - Matthew advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Matthew lands with a punch from half guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Matthew forces Maquiether back against the cage and clinches.
Matthew gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Maquiether.

Matthew breaks from the clinch.
Maquiether changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Matthew tries to avoid it but Maquiether manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Matthew to the ground. Matthew escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Matthew . No joy for Maquiether on that attempt.

Matthew will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Maquiether throws a quick counter head kick but Matthew was just out of range.
Maquiether shoots for a takedown but Matthew saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthew cracks Maquiether with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Matthew lands a couple of good shots and Maquiether has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Maquiether staying busy and making it hard for Matthew to control.

Matthew has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Maquiether tries to escape but Matthew has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Matthew is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Maquiether knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Maquiether for a finish.

Matthew moves in looking to clinch but Maquiether pushes him off.
Maquiether tries to close the distance and clinch but Matthew swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Maquiether tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Matthew smiles and moves away.
Maquiether scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Maquiether gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthew gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Maquiether has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Matthew is on him like a limpet, forcing Maquiether back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A frustrated look appears on Maquiether's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Matthew is trying to drag Maquiether to the mat but Maquiether just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Maquiether pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A clash of legs there as Matthew blocks the low kick.
No luck for Maquiether with that takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matthew goes for a double leg but Maquiether avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maquiether continues to drive forward.
Matthew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Maquiether closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Matthew quickly recovers to half guard.

It looks like Mark Matthew has been cut.
Maquiether tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matthew was well out of range. Poor timing from Maquiether.
Matthew stuffs the takedown attempt from Maquiether. Maquiether gets slowly back to his feet.
Maquiether stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maquiether wants it to stay on the feet.
Maquiether went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Matthew tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Maquiether defends well and Matthew ends up having to push Maquiether into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Matthew shoots in looking for a takedown. Maquiether tries to sprawl out of it but Matthew keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maquiether manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maquiether shoots in but Matthew avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Matthew lands a head kick!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maquiether is defended easily by Matthew .
Flod Maquiether has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mark Matthew is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Matthew manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Maquiether on his heels. He'll look to pass Maquiether's guard now, I'm sure.
