PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mads Nordskov (ranked 410 p4p, 17 weight class) and Kylar Sensei (ranked 613 p4p, 30 weight class). Nordskov comes to the cage accompanied by Fugle. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mads Nordskov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kylar Sensei!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nordskov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sensei.
Nordskov scores with a nice right hand.
Sensei misses with a wild body shot.
It looked like Nordskov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sensei.
Nordskov slips under a jab.
Sensei thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sensei keeps the fight on the outside.
Sensei throws a hook but Nordskov avoids it easily.
Sensei missing with a left hand there. Nordskov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Sensei shoots in and gets a takedown into Nordskov's guard.
Sensei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nordskov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nordskov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sensei wants to control from the top but Nordskov keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sensei is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Sensei scores with a sloppy right hand. Nordskov should have avoided that one.
Sensei paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nordskov thuds his shin into the meat of Sensei's side.
Sensei dives in for a single leg takedown but Nordskov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nordskov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Nordskov has managed to clinch.
Nordskov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sensei.

Sensei has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nordskov uses from the top position.

Kylar Sensei has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Nordskov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Nordskov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nordskov swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Sensei counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sensei.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sensei looks to move to half guard but instead Nordskov has passed into mount! Damn!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mads Nordskov.
I think Nordskov has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
