Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Shepherd (ranked 5074 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aidan Alexander (ranked 5075 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie Shepherd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aidan Alexander!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Freddie Shepherd has been cut.
Shepherd throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Alexander connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Alexander bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Shepherd throws Alexander to one side and escapes!
Shepherd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Alexander shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shepherd manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Alexander seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Shepherd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alexander is controlling him.

Shepherd has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Alexander has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Alexander has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shepherd uses from the top position.
Shepherd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Alexander feints and as Shepherd raises his hands in defense, Alexander changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Alexander wants to control from the top but Shepherd keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alexander's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Aidan Alexander is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alexander shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alexander was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Still in half guard, Alexander seems content to control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Freddie Shepherd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shepherd throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shepherd has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Alexander has passed into side control.
Shepherd manages to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alexander wants to control but Shepherd is keeping him busy.
Shepherd tries to roll over but Alexander keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aidan Alexander showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Alexander manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shepherd on his heels. He'll look to pass Shepherd's guard now, I'm sure.
Shepherd is looking to stand back up but Alexander counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Shepherd.

Alexander wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shepherd keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alexander is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Shepherd still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Shepherd has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Alexander seems a little lost for a moment, as Shepherd dominates the positioning.
You can see the frustration on Alexander's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shepherd fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Shepherd tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Alexander wants to escape the position.
Shepherd scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Alexander is looking for a way out.
