Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gomez (ranked 6076 p4p, 533 weight class) and Gabrielius Nieves (ranked 24555 p4p, 613 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gabrielius Nieves was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez misses with a series of wild punches.
Nieves clinches up against the cage.
Nieves throws a punch but it's blocked by Gomez.
A head punch on the inside from Nieves fails to land.
Nieves misses with a knee to the head.
Nieves misses with a knee strike.
Nieves has Gomez pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nieves with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Gomez pulls guard effortlessly.
Gomez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nieves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nieves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Nieves avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gomez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nieves rolls with it to try and escape but Gomez cranks on the arm and Nieves is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
