The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herta looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Herta fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Hayesless. No joy for Herta on that attempt.
Herta dives in for a single leg takedown but Hayesless sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Herta. That's going to take a lot out of him.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hayesless working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Herta has a closed guard, preventing Hayesless from standing up.

Hayesless avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Herta is looking for a triangle but Hayesless pushes his legs off easily.

Herta has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hayesless doesn't defend quickly enough and Herta has managed to lock this one up! Can Hayesless escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Herta on a fantastic submission victory.

In his post fight interview, Antonio Herta started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
