Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Saxxon (ranked 4892 p4p, 488 weight class) and Daniel Jones (ranked 3529 p4p, 396 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Saxxon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Jones!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saxxon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones misses with the combination.
A head kick misses from Saxxon.

Jones drives through and clinches with Saxxon against the cage.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Saxxon throws Jones to one side and escapes!

Saxxon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Jones steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Saxxon. That one must have hurt.

It looks like Daniel Jones has been cut.

Saxxon has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jones is on him like a limpet, forcing Saxxon back against the cage.

Jones breaks from the clinch.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Saxxon wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Saxxon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a leg kick.

Saxxon throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saxxon sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Saxxon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
Saxxon tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Jones is keen to just control but Saxxon is a slippery customer.

Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Saxxon down.
Jones prevents Saxxon from escaping the position.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones tries to advance to mount but Saxxon denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saxxon taking punishment in the form of punches.
Jones creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Saxxon pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Saxxon trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Saxxon looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.

Saxxon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones avoids the head kick by Saxxon.
Jones is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Saxxon sprawls well.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Saxxon throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Saxxon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saxxon tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saxxon to the ground. Saxxon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saxxon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Saxxon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A telegraphed right hand from Saxxon misses the target.
Saxxon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
As Saxxon backs off Jones throws a huge counter combo but Saxxon manages to avoid it all.

Jones is looking to clinch but Saxxon is avoiding it.
Jones wants to clinch.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Saxxon keeps moving.

Saxxon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones gets to his feet - Saxxon follows without any prompting.

Saxxon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Saxxon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Saxxon doesn't seem bothered though.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Saxxon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Saxxon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Saxxon is looking to wear down Jones with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Daniel Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Daniel Jones.

Daniel Jones spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
