The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitsumune misses with an uppercut.
Mitsumune throws a lazy head kick

and MacDonald counters with a shoot takedown. Mitsumune fights it but they end up in guard.
MacDonald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mitsumune is keeping the position for now.
MacDonald advances to half guard.
MacDonald trying to mount his opponent but Mitsumune defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mitsumune manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and MacDonald cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
MacDonald lands a jab to the nose.
Mitsumune misses with a telegraphed body shot
and MacDonald counters with a lovely straight right hand!
MacDonald lands with a nice combination. Mitsumune backs away looking to recover.
Mitsumune throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and MacDonald counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mitsumune lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

MacDonald looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mitsumune wants to stand up but MacDonald is controlling him.
MacDonald stands and throws Mitsumune's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mitsumune knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for MacDonald on the ground.

MacDonald tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mitsumune's legs.
MacDonald content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
MacDonald passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mitsumune!
The referee warns Mitsumune that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
MacDonald won't let Mitsumune get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitsumune is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. MacDonald locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mitsumune is forced to tap!
