Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Miles (ranked 24778 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yen Suneg (ranked 5049 p4p, 0 weight class). Yen Suneg has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikel Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yen Suneg!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Miles is pulling down on Suneg's head to control his posture.
Suneg wanted to stand there but Miles had control of the position.
Suneg wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving.

Suneg is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suneg makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Miles has Suneg pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Suneg's corner calls for a 1-2. Suneg obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Yen Suneg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Suneg manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miles on his heels. He'll look to pass Miles's guard now, I'm sure.
Miles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Miles has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Miles.
Suneg loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Suneg throws a sloppy head kick

and Miles counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Suneg has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Miles is on him like a limpet, forcing Suneg back against the cage.

Miles breaks the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Suneg lands a shot to the body.
Suneg is looking to break free of the clinch but Miles has double underhooks.

Suneg is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Miles can't fight it off and eventually Suneg manages to take the fight to the floor. Miles looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miles wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Suneg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miles seems keen to control Suneg's posture.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Miles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yen Suneg dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Miles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Suneg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Suneg feints and as Miles raises his hands in defense, Suneg changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Miles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Miles pulls Suneg in to control the position.
Suneg works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Suneg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miles keeps working.
Miles is concentrating on defense, preventing Suneg from advancing position.
Miles continues to hold on tight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miles gets full guard.
Suneg is breathing heavily.
Miles wants to sweep but no luck.
Miles is controlling Suneg's posture.
Suneg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Suneg wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mikel Miles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Suneg drives through with a takedown into Miles's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Miles has Suneg pressed against the cage, preventing Suneg from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miles is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Miles is doing well to control the position and prevent Suneg from advancing to side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Miles throws a sloppy head kick and Suneg moves out of range easily.

Suneg fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Miles to the ground. Suneg is now in Miles's guard.

Miles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Suneg manages to get himself to full guard.

Miles postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Miles stands and steps away. Suneg gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Yen Suneg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Suneg has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
