Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 52 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tearrius George!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eikmeyer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as George sprawls well. George wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eikmeyer gets slowly back to his feet.
Eikmeyer has a takedown stuffed.
Eikmeyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A little jabbing left from George on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Eikmeyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
George punishes Eikmeyer's body with a nice straight punch.
George connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
George stuffs the takedown attempt from Eikmeyer. Eikmeyer gets slowly back to his feet.
Despite the aggression on George's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
George lands a nice shot that snaps Eikmeyer's head back.
Eikmeyer shoots for a double leg takedown but George sprawls well. He's pushed Eikmeyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eikmeyer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into George's guard.

George wants to get back to his feet but Eikmeyer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Eikmeyer is looking to pass into half guard but George pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now George is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
George scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
George chips away with some ground and pound.

George distracts Eikmeyer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
George has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Eikmeyer is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
George loads up on a big left hand. Eikmeyer felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - George looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Eikmeyer can't hide his disappointment, as George celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tearrius George!
