Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Treneiro Corneiro (ranked 2217 p4p, 264 weight class) and Blake Westcutt (ranked 1200 p4p, 158 weight class). Westcutt has chosen Nick Nolan - Life of Sin as his entrance music. Treneiro Corneiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Treneiro Corneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Westcutt!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Westcutt forces Corneiro back against the cage and clinches.

Westcutt jumps guard.
Westcutt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Corneiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Westcutt is retaining full guard.

Corneiro drops back looking for a leg! Westcutt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Westcutt manages to kick Corneiro off! Corneiro jumps back into Westcutt's guard.

Corneiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Westcutt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Corneiro has managed to get both his arms back between Westcutt's legs - danger averted.

Westcutt has his foot on Corneiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Corneiro works his way back into a safe position though.

Corneiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Westcutt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Corneiro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Westcutt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Corneiro passes Westcutt's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Corneiro wants to work for an arm triangle but Westcutt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Corneiro looks to land a strike but Westcutt avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Corneiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Westcutt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Westcutt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Corneiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Westcutt pushes a forearm under Corneiro's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Corneiro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
