The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tormenta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mazepin.
Mazepin goes for a double leg but Tormenta avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tormenta continues to drive forward.

Tormenta moves into the clinch.

Tormenta has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mazepin uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tormenta wants to sweep but no luck.

Tormenta pulls Mazepin in close to his closed guard and prevents Mazepin from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mazepin has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Mazepin wants to pass the guard but Tormenta is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tormenta looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mazepin is defending well. Tormenta quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mazepin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Tormenta celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

A relieved looking Fray Tormenta thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
